1 killed, 3 hospitalized after shooting in East Los Angeles

One person was killed and three others were hospitalized after a shooting in East Los Angeles Tuesday night.

Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 4700 block of Telegraph Road around 8:15 p.m.

One person, a male adult, was found lying on the street near the intersection of Telegraph and Arizona. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Three other men suffering from gunshot wounds were transported to the hospital; two were in critical condition and one was in stable condition.

Investigators said all four victims were sitting in a car when several suspects approached their vehicle and fired shots at them. The suspects fled the scene and were last seen driving northbound on Arizona Avenue. 

The circumstances leading up to the deadly shooting, including a possible motive, remain unclear. No suspect descriptions were provided and the victims’ identities have not been released.

A SigAlert was issued for the Eastern Avenue offramp from the northbound 5 Freeway as officers investigated and worked to clear the scene.
