Newly released footage has stunned the world — revealing the breathtaking escape of the robbers behind one of the largest jewelry heists in modern history.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, a team of masked thieves infiltrated a high-security exhibition inside Paris’s famed Louvre Museum, making off with jewelry valued at more than $102 million. The pieces, part of a royal collection on loan from a Middle Eastern monarch, vanished in under seven minutes.
Security footage captured the thieves’ astonishing getaway. After disabling motion sensors and evading laser alarms, the group climbed to a service balcony and slid down a maintenance ladder, one by one, with surgical precision.
Outside, two high-powered scooters waited in the shadows of the Rue de Rivoli. As the final thief touched the ground, they sped away into the Paris night — disappearing before police arrived.
Authorities believe the heist was carried out by a well-organized international ring with inside knowledge of the museum’s layout. Interpol has joined the investigation, and borders across Europe are on alert for any attempt to move or sell the stolen jewels.
