Macomb County, Michigan — Shoppers at The Mall at Partridge Creek were left stunned after witnessing a brazen daylight theft at the Lululemon store that unfolded in seconds.
According to authorities, a woman sprinted into the high-end athletic wear store, grabbed armfuls of expensive clothing — mostly yoga pants, jackets, and tops — and bolted out before anyone could react.
Surveillance footage shows the suspect moving quickly and deliberately, shoving merchandise into a large shopping bag as stunned employees and customers looked on. One worker tried to confront her, but the woman threatened to push past and ran straight through the exit.
Witnesses described the moment as “like something out of a movie.”
“She didn’t even hesitate,” said one shopper. “She knew exactly what she wanted and where to run — she was gone in seconds.”
Police say the suspect fled in a dark-colored SUV waiting outside the main entrance, driven by another unknown individual. The pair sped away before mall security could stop them.
Authorities estimate that the stolen merchandise totals over $5,000 in value. Investigators are now reviewing security footage from both the mall and surrounding businesses to identify the suspects.
Lululemon has been the target of several similar retail thefts across the U.S. in recent months — part of what police describe as a growing trend of “grab-and-run” operations targeting high-end stores.
Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information to come forward.
Meanwhile, shoppers say the incident has shaken their sense of safety.
“It’s scary,” one employee said. “We never know who’s coming in next — a customer or a thief.”
