Police in Ohio made a shocking discovery after responding to a frantic call about a missing woman — only to find her locked inside a garage, hidden behind layers of debris and tarps.
According to the newly released bodycam footage, officers arrived at a residence in the early morning hours after receiving a tip from a neighbor who reported hearing muffled screams coming from the property.
As officers approached the garage, they noticed the door had been barricaded from the outside. One officer can be heard shouting commands before breaking the lock and forcing the door open. What they found inside was something out of a nightmare.
The missing woman, visibly terrified and restrained, was discovered behind stacked boxes and covered furniture. She told police she had been held against her will for several days, with no access to food or water.
Officers immediately moved her to safety and called paramedics to the scene. The suspect — believed to be someone known to the victim — was later apprehended nearby after attempting to flee on foot.
Neighbors were left stunned, saying they had noticed strange activity around the property but never imagined something so dark was happening just a few feet away.
“We heard noises at night but thought it was animals,” said one resident. “It’s chilling to know someone was trapped there.”
Police confirmed that the woman is now safe and recovering, and the suspect faces multiple charges including kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, and assault.
Authorities praised the quick action of officers and the bravery of the victim for surviving the ordeal.
