Chaos erupted at a busy train station this morning when a man armed with a large knife launched a sudden attack on commuters and security personnel. Witnesses described the scene as pure panic — people screaming, running for cover, and dropping their luggage as the attacker charged through the crowd, waving his weapon and shouting incoherently.
According to police, the suspect entered the station shortly after 8 a.m. and appeared agitated. Surveillance footage shows him pacing on the platform before suddenly lunging at a nearby officer. As commuters scattered, several officers shouted for him to drop the weapon — but he refused, continuing to advance.
Moments later, officers opened fire. Multiple shots were heard echoing through the station as the man collapsed to the ground. Paramedics rushed in immediately, but the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
Eyewitnesses say the attack lasted less than a minute, but it felt like an eternity. “It was terrifying — people didn’t know where to run,” said one witness. “The man looked possessed. The police had no choice.”
Authorities later confirmed that the suspect had a criminal record and was recently released from custody. Investigators are now working to determine his motive, as well as whether he was targeting anyone specifically or acting out of mental distress.
Police officials defended their use of force, saying their officers acted heroically under extreme pressure to prevent what could have been a mass tragedy.
The train station has since been reopened after being closed for several hours for investigation. Commuters returning later described a haunting silence where chaos once erupted — a grim reminder of how quickly ordinary moments can turn into life-or-death situations.
