Wife of Jill Biden’s ex husband found dead at home after police called for ‘domestic dispute’

Linda Stevenson, the wife of Jill Biden’s first husband Bill Stevenson, has been found dead at her Delaware home, police have confirmed.

The New Castle County Police Department revealed that the 64-year-old’s body was discovered by authorities on December 28 at approximately 11.16pm local time.

According to a press release, officers had responded to a ‘reported domestic dispute at a residence in the 1300 block of Idlewood Road in the community of Oak Hill.’

Upon entering the home, officers located Stevenson unresponsive in the living room.

Officers immediately administered life-saving measures; however, despite their efforts, she was later pronounced dead.

The case has now been turned over to the division’s Criminal Investigations Unit, which attended the scene to begin the investigation into how Stevenson came to pass away.

Her body has since been turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of her death.

While very little is known about the investigation so far, Stevenson’s grief-stricken daughter, Christina Vettori, told The Daily Mail that it is ‘still a murder investigation’ as she declined to comment any further.

However, the sheriff’s office has denied this claim, stating that it is still a ‘death investigation’ at this time.

No arrests or charges have been made, with enquiries ongoing as to the circumstances surrounding Stevenson’s death.

Stevenson is survived by her husband Bill and daughter Christina, 45.

Jill Biden, 74, was previously married to Bill back in 1970, while she was in college.

However, the pair divorced just five years later in 1975, with Jill going on to marry the future president, Joe Biden, in 1977, with the couple having remained happily married ever since.

Bill previously accused his ex-wife of having an affair with the Democrat while the pair were still married, having claimed repeatedly that Jill grew close to Joe in 1972 while working on his first campaign to represent Delaware in the US Senate.

This is the same year that Biden’s first wife, Neilia, and his infant daughter were killed in a car accident.

Bill said he first suspected the affair in 1974; however, the Bidens have always disputed this and stated multiple times that they met on a blind date in 1975 while both were single.
