Body camera footage shows the dramatic arrest of a young woman accused of driving under the influence after she failed multiple field sobriety tests during a late-night stop.
According to police, the woman was pulled over after officers observed erratic driving. On camera, she is seen struggling to complete standard sobriety exercises, including the walk-and-turn and one-leg stand. When officers informed her she was under arrest and instructed her to step into the patrol car, she refused.
The footage captures the woman insisting she didn’t have to comply, appearing to believe she could avoid detention by refusing to enter the vehicle. Officers repeated their commands before moving in to escort her into custody.
Police later confirmed that the woman was booked on charges of driving under the influence and resisting arrest. Authorities also reminded the public that refusal to follow lawful instructions during an arrest can add additional charges and penalties.
“This is a textbook example of how not to handle a DUI stop,” one officer commented. “Cooperation is always the best option, especially when evidence is already against you.”
