She Ordered a Full Meal… Then Told Facebook to Pay the Bill

What started as an ordinary dinner out turned into one of the strangest police calls of the week.

According to officers, a woman walked into a restaurant, ordered a full spread—appetizers, entrees, dessert, and drinks—and enjoyed every bite without any issues. But when the check came, things took a bizarre turn.

Instead of pulling out a wallet, the woman reportedly announced that she didn’t need to pay. Why? Because, according to her, “Facebook was covering the bill.” She insisted that since she had posted about her meal online, the company was responsible for paying the restaurant tab.

The staff, stunned by the excuse, tried to reason with her. They explained politely that no social media platform covers dining expenses, but she wouldn’t budge. Her confidence only grew, and she refused to hand over payment.

When the situation escalated, police were called to the scene. Bodycam footage shows the woman passionately defending her position, trying to convince officers that her “arrangement with Facebook” was legitimate. She even demanded they call someone at the company to verify it.

The officers, keeping their composure, reminded her that dining and dashing—or refusing to pay—was a crime. Despite her bizarre explanation, she was ultimately detained and escorted out of the restaurant.

This incident left both police and restaurant staff shaking their heads, calling it one of the most unusual excuses for skipping a bill they had ever heard.
