On July 14, drivers in Qingdao, China, were left in shock when they spotted a young boy riding a small toy car right down the middle of a busy highway — with his desperate mother sprinting after him.
Witnesses say traffic had to slow down as the child, who appeared no older than four, continued cruising along the lane, completely unaware of the danger around him. One driver recorded the heart-stopping moment, showing cars carefully swerving to avoid the tiny vehicle.
The boy’s mother, visibly panicked, ran as fast as she could behind him — shouting his name and waving for help. Fortunately, several drivers stopped and formed a protective barrier with their vehicles, allowing her to safely reach her son.
Authorities later confirmed that the boy had managed to wander away from a nearby park, where his mother briefly looked away. His toy car somehow made it down an access ramp and onto the main road.
Police praised the quick-thinking drivers who slowed traffic and prevented what could have been a tragic accident.
“It was a miracle that no one was hurt,” one witness said. “Everyone’s heart stopped when we saw that little car on the highway.”
The video has since gone viral on Chinese social media, serving as a powerful reminder for parents to stay vigilant — and for drivers to always expect the unexpected.
